|DAWSON, William C. - Of Grand Blanc, age 91, died Friday, May 23, 2014 at Regency at Grand Blanc.
A Memorial Service will be held 2pm Friday, July 11, 2014 at Great Lakes National Cemetery.

William “Bill” was born in Flint on September 10, 1922, the son of the late John and Nina Marie Dawson. Bill served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He was one of the founders of the Experimental Aircraft Association and a member of the Civil Air Patrol. Bill enjoyed flying his personal airplanes, RV traveling, his model trains and spending time with his family. He retired as a Sergeant from the Flint Police Department and retired from Al Serra Auto Group.
Surviving are children, Nina Marie White of Raleigh, North Carolina and Pamela Dawson of Milford, MI;
step-daughter, Laurel Ann Hunt of Mesquite, Texas;
step-son, Edward and wife Bonnie Bates of Aurora, Colorado;
12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren;
sisters-in-law, Patricia Dawson of Grand Rapids and Margaret Clinton of Flint;
many nieces and nephews;
and special friends Gilbert Keeley and Jeff (Karen) Moore and their children, Ian and Erin all of Grand Blanc.
He was preceded in death by wife Viola and step-sons, Eric Bates and James Bates.
